US President Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American... There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag.... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

How Does Illegal Immigration Affect You?
Independence County Republican Womens Club
Batesville, Arkansas - October, 2, 2009 - Are illegal immigrants receiving public benefits here in Arkansas, benefits that should be made available only to legal citizens? The answer is yes. Jeannie Burlsworth, head of Secure Arkansas, has been educating the citizens of Arkansas on this important issue and has made the commitment to continue doing so until real immigration reform becomes law.
Secure Arkansas, a grassroots organization, was created in 2008 to help raise public awareness on the issue of illegal immigration and the adverse effects that it can have on our economy and future health care. Jeannie Burlworth is speaking at various town hall meetings throughout the State in order to continue her campaign to raise awareness about this critical issue.
You are invited to attend this meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2009, beginning at 11:30 AM, Western Sizzlin Restaurant, 1375 N. Saint Louis Street in Batesville.
This meeting is open to the public (an announcement has been delivered to the Batesville Guard in hopes they will print it). Invite spouses, friends, relatives, neighbors, all who are interested in the subject. Jeannie will also address the issue of State Sovereignty.
